Low NOx Oil Burner

VitroOIL-UP is an Underport Oil burner for application to a Glass Melting Furnace.  It is designed to operate with a high efficiency  low NOx oil atomiser, and provide a highly luminous flame which is suitable for all grades of fuel oil.  A Purge valve or Extractor valve is used with this burner to remove oil from the nozzle after firing.

The nozzle is designed to be easily assembled and disassembled for maintenance, and cannot be incorrectly assembled. The design of the atomiser is such as that parts in contact with oil remain cool to minimise maintenance and ensure reproducible performance   Atomisation can be with air, steam or gas.  In Underport firing applications, a high degree of flame coverage can be achieved, which with the high luminosity maximises the heat transfer rate to the glass and minimises NOx.

The underport system incorporates a burner sealing system, which eliminates tertiary air to reduce NOx and save fuel. The bracket holds the seal ring in place in the burner block and incorporates a cooling air supply ring for high efficiency cooling to increase operational life.  The system incorporates a sealed burner system, which contributes to reducing NOx and fuel savings by eliminating tertiary air.

Two types of support bracket can be provided depending on whether the bracket is supported from above or below. Support from above has the advantage of allowing clear access to the flux line.  Both provide simple vertical angle adjustment with a reference scale.  The mechanism provides accurate burner location, and allows for quick and safe burner removal.
The underport burner can be supplied without the burner bracket for retrofitting to existing burner installations.
The oil burner is  interchangeable with the Global Combustion Gas Burner.
